I think when people quit there job, they should take into account how it affects other people and not just themselves. Sure enough a lot of people hate their jobs and are unhappy with where they are in life. But don’t just quit without a decent plan if it has a big effect on other people. I’m all for chasing dreams and pursing what you want in life. Hell, I recently quit my job, but it had no major effect on anyone around me.

Another major reason that people should seriously consider quitting their jobs is if their health is effected!

I worked in an environment where I would stand for 9 hours and often not even get a lunch break. I know this is probably similar to many people, but it isn’t acceptable. Not for me anyway!

If you feel like your health is being affected then you must consider your options. Nothing is more important than your health. Time does not = Money. Money is abundant limited only by how much our governments decide to print. Time on the other hand is limited. It will run out.

We must strive to make the most of our lives!

Quitting your job is only a good idea if you already have a plan what you want to do next. If you hate your job, go and quit it. As far as I know you only live once, so do the things you like and that make you feel good. The money is important, but if you hate your job, you will hate the money that comes from working at that job. Do something you love and the money you want will follower. It has been my experience and also the experience of my clients and customers. Great post Robert !

In reply to Monica. Monica - thank you for sharing your situation. It is hard to start over and at the same time, it's possible and many people have done it. Focus on what you can control and take inventory on the aspects of the life you do enjoy and what you want to improve. For example if you are happy with you career and want to improve your relationships, what are you doing to make that happen. What is under your control that is holding you back?

I am a single mother with three kids. I feel hopeless and stuck. I love my job and I work because I care about the patients. I am a lab tech assistant. I just feel like I need a man in my life, but with three kids is so hard to start over….

The fourth one made me the decision to quit my job. I just can’t stand him. His horrible behavior is the thing that really pushed me to the limit. I even have occurring nightmares with him shouting at me. I’m not a bad employee. But he reacts too much for the little errors I made that can be easily get corrected.

I once quit a job because it was a poor fit. Every day that I went to work was really stressful for me so I prayed that each do would go by quickly (which was a sure sign that it was not the right job for me to be in). Great post, Robert.
